Truth in Medicine

About

I'm Dr. Hanna Shanar, an emergency medicine physician.

In the emergency department I see what health misinformation does once it leaves the screen: the patient who stopped a medication because of a video, the parent who waited too long because a post said it was nothing, the supplement that turned out not to be harmless.

Truth in Medicine takes the claims people actually send me and checks them against the evidence, in plain English. Every article states the claim, gives a verdict, explains why, and links every source so you can check my work.

What this isn't

This isn't medical advice, and reading it doesn't make me your doctor. If something here applies to you, take it to your own clinician. The views here are mine alone, not those of any hospital, program or employer.
